THE STRICTNESS OF CHRIST

                          THE STRICTNESS OF CHRIST

     LUKE   CHAPTER   12

      VERSE,   49,   50,   51,   52,   53

49) I am come to send fire on the earth; and would that it was already kindled?

50) But I have a baptism to be baptised with; and how am I constrained till it be accomplished!

51) Suppose you that I am come to give peace on the earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division:

52) For from now on there shall be five in one house divided, three against tow, and tow against three.

53) The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against mother; the mother-in-law against the daughter –in-law, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.

     LUKE   CHAPTER   19

     VERSE,   21,   22,   23,   24,   25,   26,   27

21) For I feared you, because you are a severe man; you take up what you laid not down, and reap what you did not sow:

22) And he said unto him, out of your own mouth will I judge you, you wicked servant. You knew that I was a severe man, taking up what I laid not down, and reaping what I did not sow:

23) Why then gave not you my money into the bank, that at my coming I might have required my own with interest?

24) And he said unto them that stood by, Take from him the pound, and give it to him that has ten pounds.

25) (And thy said unto him, LORD, he has ten pounds.)

26) For I say unto you that unto everyone who has shall be given; and from him that has not, even what he has shall be taken away from him.

27) But those enemies, who would not that I should reign over them, bring here, and slay them before me.

     HEBREWS   CHAPTER   12

     VERSE,   5,   6,   7,   8,   9,   10,   11

5) And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks unto you as unto children.  My son, despise not the chastening of the LORD, or faint when you are rebuked of him:

6) For whom the Lord loves he chastens, and scourges every son whom he receives.

7) If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chastens not?

8) But if you be without chastisement, of which all are partakers, then are you illegitimate children, and not sons.

9) Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits and live?

10) For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of this holiness.

11) Now no chastening for the present seems to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them who are trained by it.

     THESSALONIANS   CHAPTER   3

     VERSE   10

10) For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

     MATTHEW   CHAPTER   16

     VERSE,   22,   23

22) Then Peter took him. And he began to rebuke him saying. Be it far from you, Lord; this shall not be unto you.

23) But he turned, and said unto Peter. Get you behind me, Satan: you are an offense unto me: for you consider not the things that are of God, but those that be of men.

        MARK   CHAPTER   7

       VERSE,   17,   18,   19

17) And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable.

18) And he said to them. Are you so without understanding also? Do you not perceive, that whatsoever thing from outside enters into the man, it cannot defile him;

19) Because it enters not into the heart, but into the belly, and goes out into the drain, purging all foods?

21) And another of his disciples said unto him. Lord. Allow me first to go and bury my father.

       MATTHEW   CHAPTER   8

       VERSE,   21,   22

22)  Jesus said unto him. Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

       JOHN   CHAPTER   2

       VERSE,   3,   4,   5

5) His mother said unto the servants, whatsoever he says unto you, do it.

       MARK CHAPTER   3

       VERSE,   31,   32,   33,   34,   35

31) There came then his brothers and his mother, and standing outside, sent unto him, calling him.

32) And the multitude sat about him, and they said unto him. Behold your mother and your brothers outside seek for you.

33) And he answered them, saying, who is my mother, or my brothers?

34) And he looked round about on them who sat about him, and said Behold my mother and my brothers!

35) For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

       JOHN   CHAPTER   19

       VERSE,   25,   26,   27

25) Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother’s sister. Mary the wife of Clopas and Mary Magdalene.

26) When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and his disciple standing by, whom he loved, he said unto his mother, woman, behold your son!

27) Then said he to the disciple, behold your mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

       LUKE   CHAPTER   19

       VERSE   27

27) But those enemies, who would not that I should reign over them, bring here, and slay them before me.

       1 PETER   CHAPTER   4

       VERSE,   15,   16,   17,   18,   19

15) But as he who has called you is holy, so be holy in all manner of conduct;

16) Because it is written, you will be holy; for I am holy.

17) And if you call on the Father, who without respect of persons judges according to every man’s work, pass the time of your exile here in fear:

18) Since you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain manner of life received by tradition from your fathers;

19) But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

       MARK   CHAPTER   7

       VERSE,   25,   26,   27

25) For a certain woman, whose young daughter had an unclean spirit, heard of him, and came and fell at his feet:

26) The woman was Greek, a Syro-phoenician by race; and she besought him that he would cast forth the demon out of her daughter.

27) But Jesus said unto her; Let the children first be filled; for it is not right to take the children’s bread, and to cast it unto the dogs.

       JOHN   CHAPTER   6

       VERSE,   66,   67,   68,   69,   70

66) From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

67) Then said Jesus unto the twelve, will you also go away?

68) Then Simon Peter answered him, LORD, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.

69) And we believe and are sure that you are that Christ, the Son of the living God.

70) Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?

       LUKE   CHAPTER   14

       VERSE,   16,   17,   18,   19,   20,   21

16) Then said he unto him, a certain man gave a great supper, and bade many:

17) And sent servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.

18) And they all with one accord began to make excuses. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it: I pray you have me excused.

19) And another said I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to examine them: I pray you have me excused.

20) And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.

21) So that servant came and showed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry say to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor, and the maimed, and the lame, and the blind.
